Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Cattle Feeder application ("App"), available on iOS, Android, and the web, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Cattle Feeder is a livestock management application that enables farmers to monitor feeding activity, track animal data, manage feeder units, view trends, and receive alerts. The App is provided by 3S ("we", "us", "our"), contactable at support@3s.ie.

3. Account Access

Access to the App is not publicly available. User accounts are provided exclusively in connection with the purchase of a Cattle Feeder hardware unit. Accounts are created and managed by system administrators and farm administrators. You may not create an account independently or share your login credentials with unauthorised persons.

4. User Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose of livestock and farm management.
• You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or interfere with the operation of the App or its associated services.
• You must not use the App for any unlawful purpose.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App, including but not limited to software, text, graphics, logos, and icons, are the property of 3S and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App solely for its intended purpose.

6. Data and Accuracy

While we strive to ensure the accuracy of data displayed within the App, including feeding records, weight trends, and alert events, we do not guarantee that data transmitted from hardware units will be error-free or uninterrupted. Decisions regarding animal welfare and farm management should not rely solely on data provided by the App.

7. Availability and Updates

We aim to keep the App available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the App at any time without prior notice. We may release updates that you will need to install to continue using the App.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, 3S shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of livestock, or interruption of farm operations. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the hardware unit associated with your account.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to access the App ceases immediately.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes.

Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how 3S ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Cattle Feeder application ("App") on iOS, Android, and the web. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Irish and EU data protection laws.

2. Data Controller

The data controller for the personal data processed through the App is 3S, contactable at support@3s.ie.

3. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Account Information: Name, email address, and phone number (optional), as provided during account setup by an administrator.
• Authentication Data: Securely stored login credentials managed through AWS Cognito. We do not store your password in plain text.
• Farm and Usage Data: Farm names, animal records (tag numbers, types), feeding logs, weight data, feeder unit status, alert configurations, and alert event history.
• Device Information: Device type and operating system version, collected automatically to ensure App compatibility.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

• To provide and maintain the App and its core functionality.
• To authenticate your identity and manage account access.
• To deliver alerts and notifications related to your farm and feeder units.
• To improve the App and troubleshoot technical issues.
• To communicate with you regarding support queries.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

• Contract: Processing is necessary for the performance of our service provided with the purchase of a Cattle Feeder unit.
• Legitimate Interest: To improve our services, ensure security, and provide technical support.
• Consent: Where required, such as for push notification permissions on your device.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise redistribute your personal data to any third party.

Your data may be processed by the following service providers solely for the purpose of operating the App:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS): Cloud infrastructure, authentication (Cognito), and data storage. Data is processed within the EU (eu-west-1 region, Ireland).

We will not disclose your personal data to any other party unless required by law or with your explicit consent.

7. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on servers located within the European Union. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS).
• Secure token-based authentication with automatic token refresh.
• Biometric-protected credential storage on supported devices (Face ID / fingerprint).
• Role-based access controls (system admin, farm admin, farm user).

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Farm and feeding data is retained for the operational life of your account. If your account is terminated, we will delete your personal data within 90 days, unless retention is required by law.

9. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
• Restriction: Request restriction of processing in certain circumstances.
• Portability: Request transfer of your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests.

10. Cookies and Tracking

The web version of the App may use essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, or any third-party tracking technologies.

11. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12. International Data Transfers

All data is processed and stored within the European Union. We do not transfer your personal data outside the EU/EEA.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
